Sid Burgess, National Director of Newsfifty.com, is a product of years of public service and business management.  His wide variety of training and experience have developed his talents in the areas of municipal management, public communication, marketing, and project development / management. He received training as a firefighter/EMT and served a tour of duty in Iraq as a combat medic in the Army Nat’l Guard. Returning with a vision for helping communities, Sid served on his local city council for three years, founded and led a non-profit community improvement organization, and co-managed a private real estate development company. He worked as Area Director for a start-up chain of coffee shops, implementing creative marketing and advertising strategies which had a marked positive impact on the company’s sales and growth. Sid currently serves on the Oklahoma Technology Review Board, appointed to that committee by the Speaker of the House, and is in the process of developing his own consulting company to help cities implement forward-thinking solutions. He is a visionary achiever, passionate about people and their communities, working to leverage the power of social media and the Internet to effect positive change and growth in local governments.
